ULTRAVIEW
CATEGORY: ANIMATION, 3D, CGI, EDITING
Ultraview is an experimental short film inspired by the Ultraview effect and the Zen Buddhist discipline of ensō. It looks to simulate the Ultraview experience — a term coined by Dr Deana Weibel which describes the profound experience of viewing the Milkyway galaxy from the Moon’s orbit — and offer viewers a moment to revel in their communion with the earth and the universe.
In ensō, the drawing of the circle in a fluid single-stroke is a disciplined and spiritual act; the circle has both a universal and spiritual significance. In much the same way, Ultraview uses a fluid single-shot to send viewers on a journey into their own experience of communion, universal and personal, via the light of 400 billion stars.
